An ICICI Bank Debit Card makes your payments much more convenient and secure through an electronic payment facility directly from your Savings or Current Account with ICICI Bank.

How can I block my Debit Card?

You may block  the Debit Card through any of the following channels:

Is there any fees for using my Debit Card for retail or online transactions?

No. There is no fee for using your debit card for retail or online transactions. However, under certain merchant categories like railways and fuel, a fee may be levied by the merchant on every purchase.

What is the procedure to follow if my Debit Card PIN is blocked?

For security reasons, your debit card will be blocked if there are 3 consecutive wrong PIN attempts on the account. However, the card will be activated automatically after 12:00 a.m. and you can access it there on.
 
If you forgot the debit card PIN, please follow the below steps to generate the new PIN.
 
Pin generation through ATM:
 
Step 1: Insert your ATM / Debit Card
Step 2: On the Language screen, Select “Generate PIN / Forgot PIN” option
Step 3: Select “Generate OTP” option.
Step 4: Enter the registered mobile number.
Step 5: Enter Date of Birth as registered with Bank in DDMMYYYY format
 
OTP will be delivered on your registered mobile number through SMS
 
Generation of ATM PIN after OTP is received:
 
Step 1: Insert your ATM / Debit Card.
Step 2: On the Language screen, Select “Generate PIN / Forgot PIN” option.
Step 3: Select “Already have OTP, Generate ATM PIN” option.
Step 4: Enter OTP received on the registered mobile number.
Step 5: Enter your new ATM PIN.
Step 6: Re-enter your new ATM PIN.
 
PIN will be successfully generated.

Step 4: Enter 4 digit card PIN, re-confirm debit card pin and click on 'generate now'

To generate Pin number for your ICICI Bank Debit card please follow the below steps.
 
Pin generation through ATM:
Step 1: Insert your ATM / Debit Card
Step 2: On the Language screen, Select “Generate PIN / Forgot PIN” option
Step 3: Select “Generate OTP” option.
Step 4: Enter the registered mobile number.

What should I do if my Credit Card is not working?

Can my Debit Card be used for transactions outside India?

As per RBI mandate, all debit cards issued before December 01, 2013 are blocked for international usage.

However, you can activate your debit card for international transactions at ATMs, retail outlets or international websites by calling our Customer Care from your registered mobile number.

You will receive the new debit card by 25th of the month in which the old card is getting expired.

How to generate/register the 3D Secure PIN for my Debit Card?

3D Secure PIN is a 6 digit numeric PIN which provides a way to protect your Debit Card usage on the Internet.
 
Why is 3D Secure PIN required?
3D Secure PIN is required to safeguard your internet purchases whenever you use your Debit Card at participating merchant websites. The requirement of 3D Secure PIN prevents unauthorised usage of your Debit Card on the internet, giving you more confidence about making secure purchases online.

The limit of the debit card can be set by the customer through the below steps:

How can I apply for an ICICI Bank Debit Card?

An ICICI Bank Debit Card comes as a part of the ICICI Bank Account Kit which is given to you at the time of account opening. In case, you were not given an ICICI Bank Debit Card with your new account kit, you can call ICICI Bank customer care and request for a new debit card.

What is the procedure to replace a damaged Debit Card?

Once the request is made, the card will be delivered within 5 working days at your communication address updated in our records. Your existing card will be blocked on issue of your new card. The new ATM/ debit card is charged at Rs. 200 plus 18% Goods and Services Tax (GST).

What are the charges for ICICI Bank Expressions Debit Card?

The ICICI Bank Expressions Debit Card can be availed for at a joining fee of Rs. 499/- (Plus  Goods and Service Tax ) only. Annual charges of Rs.499/-(Plus Goods and Service Tax ) from second year onwards will be applicable. 

How to use a debit card for retail transactions?

Step1: The merchant swipes or dips your card at a Point of Sale (POS) terminal
Step2: The merchant enters the transaction amount on the POS terminal
Step3: The POS machine will prompt for the Credit or Debit Card PIN to be entered by you. Please do not disclose your PIN to the merchant.
Step4: Once you enter the correct PIN and sign the chargeslip, the transaction is confirmed and completed
Step5: Ensure that the card is returned to you

How do I activate the debit card for usage online or at retail outlets?

To activate, use your card for PIN based transaction at any of the following:

  1. Any Bank ATM
  2. Merchant outlets
  3. Online Merchants

For online merchants, system will prompt for 3D Secure PIN generation for first time usage..

What are the daily usage limits for my debit card for usage at ATMs and merchant outlets?

There is a daily limit on your debit card for ATM cash withdrawal as well as transactions at retail outlets and online merchants in India and abroad.

How do I change my debit card PIN, in case I forget it ?

You may change your debit card PIN anytime through ICICI Bank ATM, Internet Banking, iMobile app or Customer Care.

4. Enter debit card grid values, OTP received. Click on Submit 
5. Enter 4-digit card PIN, re-confirm debit card PIN and click on 'Generate Now' 
6. Message will be displayed as ‘Debit Card PIN has been generated successfully’.

3. PIN generation through iMobile app:

Login to iMobile app > Services & Aadhaar > Card Services > Generate Debit Card PIN. Enter the required details and Submit.

4. PIN generation through Customer Care:


You may call our Customer Care on 1860 120 7777  from your registered mobile number > Select the language option > Press option 1 for 'Bank Accounts' > Enter your 16-digit ATM/ Debit Card number > Press option 1 for generating a new PIN > Follow the instructions.

I have done a transaction at merchant outlet/online but transaction not successful however the amount got debited from my account . What should I do?

If the amount is debited from your account on an unsuccessful transaction, you may follow any of the below steps:

Internet Banking:
Logon to Internet Banking with your user ID and password > Customer Service > Service Request > Bank Accounts > More> Account Transaction Related > Inquiry on Debit Card Transactions Done at Merchant Outlets.

What do I do in case an upgraded / new card has been assigned to me by ICICI Bank?

In this case you will have to follow the de-registration process for the old card by dialing 022 66126575 and register again for the new card with the new details.

Will I be asked for my ATM PIN at every POS terminal, be it domestic or International?

For all transactions in India you will be asked for a PIN. However, outside India, only if the POS terminal is enabled for PIN authentication, you will be asked for PIN. You will need to enter your debit card ATM PIN and complete the transaction.

Can I obtain a refund of the value on the Delhi Metro Transit Chip?

DMRC rules governing the use of this Card do not permit refund of any balance on the Delhi Metro Transit Chip.

What are the Debit Card transaction fees if I swipe my card at Fuel pumps or booking railwaytickets?

The following are the transaction charges applicable when you use the Debit Card at:

  • Petrol pumps:

    Fuel surcharge would not be applicable for the transactions done on ICICI Bank swipe machines at selected government fuel petrol outlets (HPCL/ IOCL/ BPCL).

     

    ICICI Bank Debit Card holders who transact on Non-ICICI Bank swipe machines at any fuel petrol outlet would be levied surcharge amount at the discretion of the member/ acquiring bank and the surcharge shall be reversed once we receive the refund from the respective acquiring bank.

  • IRCTC: Rs. 10 flat fees per transaction if transaction is done using ATM PIN. For all other IRCTC transactions, upto 1.8% Payment Gateway (PG) charges will apply.

Please note that there are no transaction fees applicable at other merchant locations. These charges attract a Service Tax and an Educational Cess as applicable, in terms with the current Finance Bill.
