Can I retain the foreign exchange on my ICICI Bank Travel Card after returning to India?

You can retain the residual balance in the card only if it is less than $2,000. Refunds have to be claimed within 180 days from your date of arrival (as per RBI regulations). If you do not avail of the refund on time, the card would be suspended and you could face legal action.

Are there any charges for using a Travel Card in ATM?

VISA :
There is a charge of 1.50 Dollars for USD Card, 1.50 Euros for Euro card, 1.50 Pounds for GBP Card (and similar amount for other currencies as well) for cash withdrawal from ATMs. The charges for checking the balance through the ATM is 0.50 Dollars for USD Card, 0.50 Euros for Euro Card, 0.50 Pounds for GBP Card (and similar amount for other currencies as well)*.

MASTERCARD :
A charge of 1.50 Dollars is levied on ATM Usage while 0.50 dollars are charged for balance enquiry*.

 

*Please note that 18% Goods and Service Tax (GST) w.e.f. July 1, 2017 is applicable on the charges.

Can the ICICI Bank Travel Card be used over the Internet?

How long does it take to get the refund?

Customers can get the refund immediately upto the amount of balance remaining on your ICICI Bank Travel Card. In case there are some unsettled transactions, there could be an additional delay of upto 11-30 days.

At what rate can I get my funds refunded?

Link

The funds would be credited to the cardholder at the ongoing rate of the day when he/she apply for the refund. These rates will be available at the nearest ICICI Bank branch or money changer.

How can I confirm if my Travel card has been charged/loded?

You would get an SMS confirmation shortly after your card is loaded or reloaded or refunded. You may call up our customer care center also to know your balance. You can login into the website and check the transactions anytime.

You can also walk into the nearest ICICI Bank ATM to check the balance on your card (balance will be displayed in rupees)

Where do I call if I need some assistance?

Customers can call ICICI Bank's Customer Care Center for free customer support. From outside India, customers may call +91 22 3366 7777.

 

After calling these numbers, customers may press 1 for English or 2 for Hindi or 3 for Marathi as language selection. Then customers can select option number 2 for Credit/Prepaid cards and may enter their 16-digit card travel card number to know their transaction details, the remaining balance on their card account, to update their mailing address/email address/mobile number, report a card loss and ask for replacement cards or write to us using the "Email Us" option.

What forex rates are charged at the time of purchase?

The card can be bought at the ongoing forex rate of that day offered by the ICICI Bank branch or the Money Changers from where the card has been bought. The forex rates are similar to the rates charged for Travelers Cheques.

What is the ICICI Bank Travel Card?

ICICI Bank Travel Card is a pre-paid foreign currency card that makes your foreign trip totally hassle-free and convenient. You can load this pre-paid card with foreign currency in India by paying in INR and use it to swipe on merchant outlets and withdraw cash in the local currency from ATMs accepting VISA / MASTERCARD Flag cards.

 

These Cards are sold through ICICI Bank branches and select money changers. The Card also comes with never before features including travel insurance, advanced account management features.

 

 

How can I apply for a refund on the Travel card?

To apply for a refund, please visit your nearest select ICICI Bank branch or your money changer (For Details, pls call up our Customer Care Centre).

 

You need to fill up an Refund Form and provide copies of your ICICI Bank Travel Card and your passport. The funds will be returned to you immediately.

Why would I need a replacement travel card?

Link

You may need a replacement card if the primary card is misplaced or lost. A replacement card is available in the card kit at the time of purchase. The replacement card can be activated online. If you happen to lose both, the primary as well as the replacement card, you can ask for another replacement card that will be sent to your registered address.

What documents are needed during purchase/recharge?

During purchase of a ICICI Bank Travel Card, customers need to provide the following:

  • Passport
  • A2 form
  • PAN / Form 60 (in case you do not have a PAN number)

They would also need to fill up and sign the ICICI Bank Travel Card application form. The same documents need to be provided.

Is remote Loading of the card possible?

Yes. The process is:

  • Leave a Signed Copy of the Reload Form and authorization with your family.
  • Family Member walks into nearest designated ICICI Bank Branch or authorised Money Changer with the Reload Form.
  • On submission of these documents and receipt of payment, the Card would be reloaded.

What if I forget the ATM PIN of the ICICI Bank Single Currency Travel Card?

In case the ATM/PIN is forgotten, call the Customer Care request for new ATM Pin. The new PIN will be triggered in a password protected format to the registered e-mail ID of the customer. One can also reset/change the PIN by logging in to the Self Care portal at https://inrprepaid.icicibank.com/customer/login.jsp

What exchange rates are applied when a transaction is made on the card?

For transactions done in the base currency, there is no exchange rate applicable. However, for transactions other than in the Base Currency, VISA / MATERCARD wholesale rates* would apply.

These rates are generally more favourable than the rates offered by money changers.

*There will be a currency conversion markup of 3.5% plus Goods and Service Tax as applicable will be levied by the Bank.

Please note that 18% Goods and Service Tax (GST) w.e.f. July 1, 2017 will be applicable .

Can one buy more than one ICICI Bank Travel Card?

No. A customer cannot own more than one ICICI Bank Travel Card at any point of time.

  1. Photocopy of Passport and Original Passport

Steps to Buy ICICI Bank Travel Card online-

Can I transact in currencies other than base currency (dollar ,euros, pounds etc) using the Travel Card?

Yes, ICICI Bank Travel Card allows transactions (cash withdrawal and point-of-sale transaction) in any local currency. For any currency other than the base currency, there will be an exchange rate which will be applied.

What are the minimum and maximum amounts one can load on purchase of Single Currency Travel Card?

Usage of the ICICI Bank Travel Card should be in strict accordance with the regulations of the Reserve Bank of India and FEMA regulations.

 

The card can be loaded with any amount up to USD $10,000 or equivalent in Euros in a year. The minimum loading amount is 200 ( i.e. if USD card-$200, if GBP card- £ 200 and so on ). Corporate travelers can load the Card up to $25,000 or its equivalent in Euros for every business trips*.

 

*The amount of load on a card should be done as per the foreign Exchange Management Act, 1999 and prevailing RBI regulations.

How do I track my transactions from wherever I am in the world?

Web-based Access to Account Information:"Internet" web-based access allows the customers quick access to transaction details and can also check their card balance.

 

They simply need to logon to www.icicibank.com > click on Cards > click on Travel Card, and log-in through the "Login button" link using their Internet Login ID (i.e. Travel Card 16 digit number) and password provided with the welcome pack for a complete update on the Card.

 

Customers can check the status on their ICICI Bank Travel Card from anywhere in the world. The customers can get updates on Available balance, Transactions undertaken, Transactions after last statement date, Past statements (by period).

What needs to be done incase Hotels/Car Rentals take a Pre-Authorization?

Hotels/Car Rentals before check-in/renting services etc, take a pre-auth on your card. A Pre-Auth is essentially blocking of certain amount on your card which becomes unaccessible to you unless gets settled. We recommend that you DO NOT use your ICICI Bank Travel Card at the time of checking-in or initiating a rental. Use any other credit/debit card for making the reservations. At the time of checking out of the hotel/settling the bill, you should:

  • Ask the executive to settle the final bill against the pre-auth that was taken.
  • Ask the executive to cancel the pre-auth (credit back the amount) that was taken and settle the bill by taking an authorization for the actual bill amount.
  • Ask the executive to provide you the cancelled or VOID transaction slip for the same transaction and present the same to your bank for reversal of the unsettled transaction.

In the event of the Merchant neither reversing back the amount nor providing you the VOID transaction slip for submission to your bank, ICICI Bank would credit back the amount immediately after 31st day from the date of transaction. Incase of Cash withdrawal unsettled transaction, same will be released on 11th day from the date of transaction.

How can the customer maximize saving using the ICICI Bank Travel Card?

The customers can maximize their saving by using the card at POS terminal, swiping the card to make payment rathr than withdrawing currency from ATMs and there by incurring ATM withdrawal charges while there are no charging for POS usage provided swipe is made in the same currency as the card.

Can an ATM be used to check the amount of funds remaining on the Travel Card?

What is the Insurance available on the card?

Section-wise Conditions

 

Section I Personal Accident Cover

  • Mode of transit covered: Air

Section II Missing of Connecting International Flight During Transit

  • This cover is applicable when the insured person has already taken the first international flight and the subsequent flight's scheduled departure time is at least six hours after the scheduled arrival of the first flight.
  • Additional expenses for transport, accommodation and boarding will be paid subject a maximum of the sum insured.

Section III Loss of Travel Documents(Passport and Tickets)

  • Time excess of twelve hours is applicable for loss of travel documents.
  • The cost of expenses due to loss of passport will be paid subject to a maximum of the sum insured.
  • No claim will be payble for the loss or damage in the event of:
    1. Delay or confiscation by customer/police or other authority or
    2. The theft is not reported to the police within 24 hours.

Section IV Hijacking

  • USD 125 per day will be paid subject to a maimum of seven days and the sum insured in excess of 12 hours

Section V delay in receipt of checked baggage

  • Additional expenses incurred due to delayed baggage will be payable
  • This cover will be applicable if the delay is more than twelve hours.
  • A non-delivery certificate must be obtained immediately from the airline
  • A claim will be payble only if no comensation is paid by the airline

Section VI

  • All transactions 2 days prior to reporting/7 days post reporting includeing the date of reporting.

Section VII

  • All point-of-sale transactions are covered under this, no PIN based transactions are covered.

Exclusions: All Covers are subject to exclusion of loss/damage/liability due to terrorist activity.

 

For Insurance calims, please contact ICICI Lombard General Insurance on Toll-Free Number 1800-209-8888 and 1800-2666. You can also mail at ihealthcare@icicilombard.com. ICICI Lombard PBO takes down the claim information from the customer. Checks based on the card number provided for the cover applicable. Forwards the information to the expert for claim validity. If the claim is valid, customer is forwarded the claim form along with the list of supporting documents required. The cheque is sent to customer within 30 days.

 

Note: The customer is automatically enrolled into the policy on the purchase of the card. The claim will be applicable only if on the incedent date, the travel card is active and had a positive balance on the sum. For terms and conditions please visit wwww.icicibank.com/travelcard.
