What are the charges for a Bangalore Metro Coral Debit Card?

Bangalore Metro Coral Debit Card charges are as follows:

Joining fee: Rs. 599 + Goods and Service Tax
Annual fee: Rs. 599 + Goods and Service Tax

Notes:
• Annual fee will be charged from 2nd year onwards
• Joining fee will only be charged for the 1st year
• Re-issuance of a Unifare Coral debit card for any reason will attract re-issuance charges of Rs. 599 + Goods and Service Tax
• Rs.100 will be deducted from your linked ICICI Bank account for recharge on the Namma Metro Transit Chip on issuance of the Debit Card

Please note that 18% Goods and Service Tax (GST) w.e.f. July 1, 2017 is applicable on the charges.

Whom should I contact if I want to deactivate the auto recharge facility for Unifare Bangalore Metro Platinum Debit Cards?

For deactivation, please visit the Customer Service window at any of the designated Bangalore Metro stations with your ICICI Bank Unifare Bangalore Metro Debit Card. Please note that once deactivated, the auto recharge facility cannot be reactivated on your card. If you wish to avail the auto recharge facility again, please place a request for a replacement card* by calling our Customer Care.

 

*Replacement charges as applicable will be levied.

Can I obtain a refund of the value on the Namma Metro Smart Card Chip?

You can obtain a refund of the value on the Namma Metro Smart Card / Transit Chip. You need to visit the customer care at Namma Metro stations along with your card. The Auto Recharge facility will be deactivated by BMRCL before giving a refund of the stored value. Once the Auto Recharge facility is deactivated, it cannot be reactivated on the same card.

Will I get an SMS whenever the auto recharge is triggered on my Unifare Bangalore Metro Platinum Debit Cards?

You will not receive an SMS when the auto recharge is triggered on the Namma Metro Transit Chip in your Debit Card, but you will receive an SMS once your Bank Account is subsequently debited with the auto recharge amount.

What is the threshold limit of Unifare Banglore Metro Platinum Debit Cards?

The threshold limit is the balance amount (on the Namma Metro Transit Chip) at which the auto recharge instruction will be executed automatically. The threshold limit is Rs. 100 i.e. when the balance on the Namma Metro Transit Chip drops below Rs. 100, the auto recharge of Rs. 200 will be credited to the Namma Metro Transit Chip after automatic deduction from the Bank Account.

Auto recharge is a standing instruction facility on your ICICI Bank Unifare Bangalore Metro Debit Card to recharge the Namma Metro Transit chip. In this facility, the auto recharge amount is credited to the Namma Metro Transit Chip automatically when the balance on the chip drops below the threshold limit. The auto recharge amount is Rs. 200 i.e. every time the balance on your Namma Metro Transit chip drops below a certain limit, Rs. 200 will be debited to your Bank Account and credited on the Namma Metro Transit Chip.

If I have an ICICI Bank Unifare Bangalore Metro Debit Card and a Namma Metro Smart Card, can I use both the cards for a single journey?

Please make sure to use the same card at the entry and exit during a single journey to avoid inconvenience. Use of different cards for the same journey might attract penalty as per Namma Metro rules.

What will happen if the auto recharge has not been executed because of an authorization failure (due to any reason e.g. insufficient funds) on my ICICI Bank Unifare Bangalore Metro Debit Card?

In case of an authorization failure on the ICICI Bank Unifare Bangalore Metro Debit Card because of any reason, the auto recharge facility on the Namma Metro Transit Chip in the card will be suspended. To continue using this facility, please visit the Customer Service window at Bangalore Metro stations where auto recharge can be enabled and pay an amount of Rs. 200 in cash, towards the previous auto recharge transaction.

What should I do if my ICICI Bank Unifare Bangalore Metro Debit Card gets damaged or is not readable at the Metro stations?

In case your ICICI Bank Unifare Bangalore Metro Debit Card is not readable at the Metro stations, please visit the Customer Service window at the station for resolution of the issue. If the issue persists, please contact the ICICI Bank Customer Care. ICICI Bank will deactivate your existing Debit Card and send you a new Debit Card. The balance on the Namma Metro Transit Chip will however not be transferred to the new Debit Card.

To close the Bangalore Metro Debit Card and to get a regular Debit Card, you will have to call our Customer Care. You will also need to deactivate the auto recharge facility on your Namma Metro Transit Chip by visiting the Customer Service window at any of the designated Bangalore Metro stations with your ICICI Bank Unifare Bangalore Metro Debit Card. Post deactivation of the auto recharge facility, the Namma Metro Transit Chip will remain usable for Bangalore Metro travel till such time that the balance on the Namma Metro Transit Chip is exhausted.

 

If the auto recharge facility is not deactivated within 24 hours of placing the closure request for the Debit Card, the Namma Metro Chip will be automatically blocked and will not be usable at Bangalore Metro. Simultaneously, a new request for a regular debit card will be taken and sent to your address. Standard reissuance charges of the new debit card will be applicable.

Yes you can obtain a refund on the Namma Metro Transit Chip. The Auto Recharge facility will be deactivated by Namma Metro before giving a refund of stored value. Once the Auto Recharge is deactivated, it cannot be reactivated on the same card.
