How is civil pension payment made to customers?

  • PPO issued will be sent to CPPC from CPAO
  • CPPC will then send it across to Branch for first time authentication
  • Branch will authenticate the subscriber based on KYC documents of customer, photo and PPO received
  • Branch needs to collect one-time document
    • Debit Mandate
    • Remarriage certificate
    • Employment certificate
  • All the documents collected need to be sent to CPPC
  • Basis the documents sent by branch and PPO, the pension payment is initiated by CPPC.

For incorrect pensions/not receiving pensions, request you to e-mail at cppc@icicibank.com. The CPPC will revert within two working days.

How can branches open civil pension accounts?

  • The pensioner opens a Regular Savings Account with ICICI Bank branch as per the regular process
  • The pensioner furnishes the account number to the Pay and Accounts Office (PAO)
  • Pension issuing office in turn, issues the Pension Payment Order (PPO) with this designated account number
  • PPOs are stamped and finally issued by CPAO, New Delhi.
  • The PPO is then sent to the Bank Central Pension Processing Centre (CPPC) and the pensioner
  • Pension is disbursed every month through CPPC of the Bank.

If I have missed submitting the life certificate for one year, what is the process to re-initiate the pensions?

  • Life certificates should be submitted at any branch (format in forms and formats)
  • Branch will raise an SR to CPPC under the path: IR > Liabilities > submission of Pension Document.
  • Pensions will be re-initiated from the time the account was frozen for pensions.

What is civil pension and who are eligible for the same?

  • Civil pensions are applicable to all the employees working in the civil ministries of the Central Government
  • ICICI Bank has received formal authorisation from Central Pension Accounting Office (CPAO) - New Delhi for disbursement of Pension.

Eligibility

  • All pensioners of the Central Government employed in Civil Ministries/Departments (other than railways, posts and defence), National Capital Territory of Delhi, Union Territory Administrations without legislatures, retired judges of the High Courts and the Supreme Court and All India Service Officers.
  • Payment of pension to former Members of Parliament and the payment of pension and other amenities to the former Presidents/Vice Presidents of India.
