Defence Pension Scheme

How is Defence pension payment made to customers?

  • PPO issued will be sent to CPPC from CPAO
  • CPPC will then send it across to Branch
  • Branch will authenticate the subscriber based on KYC documents, photo of customer and PPO received.
  • Branch needs to collect one-time document
    • Debit Mandate
    • Remarriage certificate
    • Employment certificate
  • All the documents collected need to be sent to CPPC
  • Basis the documents sent by branch and PPO, the payment is made by CPPC.

How can branches open Defence Pension accounts?

  • If customer already has a Savings Account with ICICI Bank Ltd, they can use the same.
  • Otherwise, submit the new Savings Account form along with KYC documents to open a new account.
    • Identity proof
    • Address proof
    • 2 photographs (passport size)
  • Customer to submit the account number and the name of the account holding branch to the Head of Office (HOO) or Record Officer (RO) in organisation.

Where should I submit my life certificates?

  • Life certificates should be submitted at any branch (format in forms and formats)
  • Branch will raise an SR to CPPC under the path: IR > Liabilities > submission of Pension Document.

What are the mandatory documents to be collected by the branch for Defence pension to continue?

Branches to collect life certificate every year in the month of November and employment/re-employment certificate and remarriage certificate twice a year in May and November as per the process mentioned below:

  • Customers share their certificates with the branches every year.
  • Branch needs to send the same to the CPPC through SR (Collect the forms and send to CPPC after raising an SR under the path: IR > Liabilities > submission of Pension Document.
  • Branches are required to communicate to pension account holders visiting the branch on the option of Digital Life Certificates also in select branches (where biometric machines are available).

For incorrect pensions/not receiving pensions, request you to e-mail at cppc@icicibank.com. The CPPC will revert within two working days.

What is Defence Pension and who are eligible for the same?

The Defence Pension is a pension fund for the three wings of armed forces (Army, Airforce and Navy) and civilian employees working in Defence establishments, where the Government of India contributes on behalf of the employee with an aim of retirement planning of the Defence Personnel.

If I have missed submitting the life certificate for one year, what is the process to re-initiate the pensions

  • Life certificates should be submitted at any branch (format in forms and formats)
  • Branch will raise an SR to CPPC under the path: IR > Liabilities > submission of Pension Document.
  • Pensions will be re-initiated from the time the account was frozen for pensions.

Is Jeevan Pramaan mandatory?

For Civil pensions, Life certificate can be shared in physical or through Jeevan Pramaan.
