Can I add or remove family members from Health Booster Policy?

Yes, you can add family members to your policy at any time by paying additional premium as applicable. However, removal can be done only at the time of renewal. The additions cannot increase the policy limit to more than 2 adults and 3 children. In the case of an individual policy, any other person cannot replace the insured. Please note that fresh waiting period will be applicable to the person added

• If you transfer your vehicle on some other person’s name, the insurance also needs to be transferred on the new owner’s name.

1. Endorsed copy of Registration Certificate/ Form 29 and Form 30 along with seller request letter for transfer of ownership
2. Proposal form filled and signed by the new owner of the vehicle
3. Vehicle inspection report if the difference between the date of transfer and request for endorsement is greater than 14 days

Constructive Total Loss refers to accidental loss/ damage to your vehicle where the aggregate cost of retrieval and/ or repairs amounts to be more than 75% of the Insured's Declared Value (IDV) on your policy.

What happens after registering the Claim in Car Insurance Policy?

The customer service manager from the insurance provider will get in touch with you. This happens within 24 hours of claim registration. Once the manager reaches the appointed place, you need to submit the copy of documents to him and get the originals verified. The manager will get the estimate for the repairs of your car. He will give spot approval after inspection. Once the repair process is completed at one of the network garages, the company will pay the bills directly to the garage (as per the terms stated in the policy).

Why a list of items is not required in Home Insurance policy?

Insurance works on good faith. We as an insurance company trust our customers. Therefore, the specific and detailed listing of your contents is not always necessary when you buy home insurance from us. However, preserving the bills helps in faster claims settlement. In the absence of bills, alternate evidence will be taken into consideration.

I live in a building insured by my society. Would I need to take additional Home insurance?

The insurance that your society provides may offer you a limited cover and generally includes only structure and not contents. You could consider home content insurance cover for your belongings if the building structure of your house is insured by the society.

What is the procedure for assessing the value of my home structure and its contents?

The value of your home structure is assessed as per the area of your home multiplied by the rate of construction per. sq. feet, as on the date of taking the policy. For example, if your home is 1000 sq. feet and the construction rate per sq. feet is ₹800, then the sum insured for your home’s building structure is ₹8,00,000. On the other hand, the contents are assessed on the market value of the items. This means that if there were a loss, the claim would be paid on the value of purchasing a similar new item, less depreciation for the usage.

If I lodge a claim after the expiry of my Car Insurance Policy policy date for an event that occurred during the policy period, will it still be valid?

Yes. For example, if the insured has a cover of ₹10,000 for maternity and incurs an expense of ₹15,000 then the insured will have to pay ₹5,000.

What is Third Party Liability cover? Is it covered in Car Insurance Policy?

Third Party Liability insurance covers losses to a third person who is not a party to the insurance contract. The Motor Third Party insurance covers the following losses:

• Any permanent injury / death to a person caused by your insured vehicle
• Any damage caused to the property (excluding vehicle) of some other individual by your insured vehicle

Liability is covered for an unlimited amount in respect of death or injury. Any damage to third party property is covered up to ₹7.5 lakh in case of Private Car and ₹1 lakh in case of Two-wheeler.

What is the duration under Garage cash cover in Car Insurance Policy?

The duration for which the company will be liable for claim in respect of this add on will be considered from the day after the insured vehicle is delivered to the garage till the day immediately preceding the date of discharge or date of invoice for such repair as prepared by the garage, whichever is earlier.

In case your vehicle insurance policy has already expired, our authorised surveyor will inspect the vehicle, before policy issuance. The policy would only be issued subject to a satisfactory inspection and submission of required documents.

If I take a 2 month Travel Insurance Policy, would I be able to extend it later, as per my requirement ?

Yes, you can extend your International Travel Insurance Policy very easily online. We would however, recommend you to buy the policy for the full duration, as the extension depends on the terms and conditions of the company. Please refer to the policy wordings for details. Senior Citizens policy (for ages between 71 years to 85 years) can be issued for a maximum of 360 days including extensions, i.e., if a customer has taken a policy for 180 days, he can further extend the same to another 180 days subject to underwriting guidelines. In case you decide to shorten your stay before the policy expires, you can reimburse the premium for the unused policy duration (minimum unused period must be 30 days). For instance, if you take a policy with an initial duration of six months but later decide to come back earlier, you can reimburse the premium for the unused policy duration provided you are in India by the end of fifth month.
