Where to report suspicious phone calls?

Vishing is a scam wherein certain individuals/ entities solicit, personal information like Internet Banking User ID, Passwords, credit/ debit card numbers, bank account information or other personal and sensitive information from unsuspecting customers. Providing above details may result in fraud transactions on your credit card/ savings account.

We urge you not to reply to such calls. Please do not share any of your personal information in response to such calls. ICICI Bank will not ask for this information via call or by directing you to a link online.

Dormant Account Activation

If there are no customer induced transactions (Debit or credit) for a period of 12 months in your account, the status will been changed to 'Inactive' and if there are no customer induced transactions for 12 months after the account has become Inactive, it will turn into 'Dormant' status.

The inactive account will be activated on initiation of customer induced transaction in the account. Alternatively, you may visit the nearest ICICI Bank branch with a valid ID and address proof for activation of your savings account. Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyoti Bima Yojna (PMJJBY)

Insurance Scheme that offers life insurance cover for death due to any reason. The scheme will be a one year cover and renewable from year to year.

Highlights of the Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyoti Bima Yojana (PMJJBY – Scheme 2 – for Life Insurance) are:

  • Eligibility: ICICI Bank Savings Bank (SB) Account holders between 18 years (completed) and 50 years (age nearer birthday) who have given the consent to join the scheme / enable auto-debit, as per the modality, will be enrolled into the scheme.
  • Policy period: The cover shall be for one year period starting from June 1, 2015 to May 31, 2016 for which option to join / pay by auto-debit from the designated savings bank account on the prescribed forms will be required to be given by May 31, 2015, extendable up to May 31, 2016.
  • Premium: Rs. 330 (per annum).
  • Payment Mode: The premium will be directly auto-debited by the bank from the subscribers’ savings bank account. This is the only mode available currently.
  • Risk Coverage: Sum Assured of Rs. 2 Lakh on death of the Insured member for any reason is payable to the Nominee.

Termination of assurance:

  • Account holder attains age of 55 years
  • Closure of account with the Bank or insufficiency of balance for debiting premium.
  • In case of multiple coverage under the scheme, the cover will be restricted to Rs.2 lakhs and other insurance covers are terminated and premium shall be forfeited.

Credit Information Bureaus and 'CIBIL'

A credit bureau is a repository of credit information of all customers of its members, which comprises banks and financial institutions. CIBIL (Credit Information Bureau of India Limited) is one such organization that collates credit information contributed by its members and disseminates it to lenders, helping them in their credit-decision-making and lending process. CIBIL houses only credit information i.e. information on loans and credit cards. It does not have any details of customers' savings accounts or fixed deposit accounts. Members share this credit information of their customers with CIBIL month on month so that CIBIL's database is updated. This information is then used by credit underwriters to make effective credit decisions.

Therefore, with proper financial planning and by maintaining a good track record of repayment of dues for loans / credit cards, you will be able to build a good credit history for yourself. This, in turn, may help you in getting future loans / credit cards easily or on better terms.
